Happiest of Days

I am back today with a quick and quick and easy little card featuring the Happiest of  Day stamp set! I love the sketched look of the stamps  and that it is super sweet!  It is just one of those sets that a girly girl loves.

Oh Happiest of Days stamp set

This set is perfect for those who like to color! Or add doodling to a card.  I have seen lots of doodling lately on cards. It is defiantly an on trend thing! And it adds lots of personality to your handmade cards.  Rambling Rose Studio is amazing at doodling. You should definitely check out Billie’s work! Her cards are awesome and she will defiantly make you want to try your had at doodling.

  • Everything is stamped in basic black.
  • The three packages were colored with prisma color colored pencils. The colors used were Chartreuse (pc989), vert printemps (pc913), and eaugepále (pc1089)
  • The corner stamp is from the Host Set in the Holiday Catalog, Season of Whimsy
  • The last thing to do was add the doodling lines! I used a zig millennium 05 to do this.

The card base is a 4 bar size. Stampin’ Up! makes great 4 bar note cards and Envelopes. These are perfect for little cards like this. The Lemon Lime Twist layer is 3 3/8 by 4 7/8 inches.  The stamped Whisper White layer is 3 1/4 by 4 3/4 inches.

You guys know I love to decorate my envelopes.  So I added a little doodling to it as well and a Happy Birthday from Teeny Tiny Wishes

Each of your comments makes me smile! Please, comment HERE.

I’m going to leave you with an up close of the coloring. It was quite simple to add just a little bit of shading by layering the three colors on top of each other! Also, adding thin layers of color helped to build the color up!

Below is the supply list! Happy Stampin’ Remember you will also need a fine point pen for the doodling. And a way to color this awesome set!

Thank you for stopping by today! I hope each of you have a wonderful Tuesday!  Stay creative my friends!

Peace-

Jennifer

Tricked out Treats with the Inking Royalty

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s September Blog Hop!  Today’s Tricked Out Treats Blog Hop is filled with spooky, fun projects for Halloween.  We are excited to share our creations with you today and hope these projects inspire you.  After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

I am so excited that we have the uber talented Lydia Fiedler joining us on the hop today! I adore Lydia as a friend and her artsy talent!  She is one of my favorite sources of crafty goodness! Welcome, Lydia! And thank you for joining us today for the Royal Hop!!  She gets to be a Royal for a day!! Yeppie!! The fabulous Lisa Pretto is also joining us!! I adore Lisa and all that she does for the Stampin’ Up! Community!!! truly we have the most amazing ladies with us today!!!  Huggs and Kisses to you both!

I decided to step out side my normal card box and make a treat holder for you guys! But, then I could not help myself and made a card to go along with the treat box!  For both projects, I used the Spooky Cat bundle and the Spooky Nights Designer Series Paper.  I can’t begin to tell you how much I like the cat punch!  It is probably my favorite punch in a very long time! I am just reaching for it all the time.

Spooky Cat Bundle

The Spooky Night Designer Series Paper coordinates with the punch. And is perfect for all your Halloween Crafting!

Spooky Night Designer Series Paper

The pumpkins and hats are adorable and fussy cut super easy.  The polka dots are just adorable. And the cats are just the right size to punch with the cat punch!!!

I surfed through some of my favorite blogs that make 3-D items a lot. And came across a box that was made from a 6×6 piece of Designer Series Paper over at Pootles.   It is the perfect size for a “fun size” candy bar. Witch ment it was just right for a Halloween treat!

Each box was made with 12 x 22 Designer Series Paper. You get 4 boxes per sheet of Designer Series Paper. Then I used the Spooky Cat bundle to decorate the boxes.

Here’s the scoring and cutting info:

  • the paper should be 6×6
  • Score at 1 1/2 and 4 1/2 inches
  • On the other side score st 1 1/2 , 2 1/4, 3 3/4, and 4 1/2
  • Burnish all score lines
  • On the side with four score lines you will cut up to where it intersects with the other score line
  • Then you will cut away a few sections. (See below)

Above is a picture of the template that I made.  You will want to cut away the parts that I have scribbled on. Also, the Black lines are the score lines. So you can see you don’t cut away the entire flap  So that you end up with something that looks like this.

The next step is to add glue to the sections that were left after cutting!  I used the fast fuse for this. It is very rare that I reach for this over the multipurpose glue. In this case fast fuse was perfect!

TRICKED OUT-

I used a piece of leftover backing from the multipurpose adhesive sheet.  The tape in fast fuse will not stick to the backing. So, it is perfect for when you want to run the tape from edge to edge of a piece of paper.

I added fast fuse to the orange sections that are folded over. All that is left is to put the box together.  The bottom two orange sections glue to the long tab that is in between them.  This makes the box. The top section with fast fuse adheres to the top tab.  This makes the top.  You want to repeat the process on both sides.

This is such a fun box with designer series paper. I love how when you open it the inside paper is just a pretty as the outside.

The hinged lid makes this box unique. Now, you can use a 1/2 inch circle punch to add a little notch to the bottom of the lid making it easy to open.  I opted not to.  Also, if you have any questions about making the box feel free to contact me via email.  Pootles has a wonderful video on how to make this box.

Now, y’all know I couldn’t let the day go by without showing you the cat!  Is he not adorable. Paper crafting could not get any easier.  The fun scarf is the Vintage Crochet Trim. I love this trim! It tied just like a real scarf!! How cool is that!!!

  • The cat’s ear peeking out is something I have been thinking about ever since I saw the hats.  I used a exact-o knife to cut a slit for the ear to peep out
  • The orange layer is embossed with the quilt top texture embossing folder. This folder is quickly becoming a favorite!
  • The stitched layering dies make a plain square something special

This little piggie

I love my Stampin’ Up! friends. The Inking Royalty (Brian Kings group) community is such a wonderful place. It is full of people who encourages the creative processes.  And the community is so willing to share ideas and techniques with each other. I just love the positive creative world of  Royals.  I’m telling you all this because, the other day Ann (a fellow Inking Royalty) sent me a card idea!  I was super excited about the idea that we decided to collaborate on the card together.  I happened to have the Halloween paper to make the card special. And she didn’t. So she sent me the idea!!!  I just wanted to take a moment and thank Ann for sharing her amazing creative ideas with me! I love Ann’s work.

The stamp set We used was the This Little Piggie. This adorable set is full of  little piggies flying, dancing and having fun!!!

This Little Piggie

How happy is that piggie with the flower or the flying pig! I just love these little pigs. We decided to pare the pig with the Spooky Nights designer series paper. This paper is full of fun card, witches hats, and festive patterns

Spooky Nights Designer Series Paper

This paper is very Classic Halloween!  The cats are the perfect size to be punched with the Cat Punch. The pumpkins and hats are wonderful fussy cut out!

Is this not the most wonderful idea ever!!! I am so lucky my friend, Ann share her amazing vision with me!

  • The background is Daniel Smith watercolors that are a Genuine. So I used a variety of colors and did two layers of watercolor. The colors are Sugilite, Purpurite, Kyanite, Fuchsite, Hematite Violet.  After this dried I added splatter of mica gold ink and white gouache
  • The moon is Daffodil Delight and Crushed Curry with mica gold ink on top. The watercolor was punched with a 2 inch circle punch
  • The sweet pig was watercolored with Powder Pink, Flirty Flamingo, and Smokey Slate
  • The broom is made from the straw in the Coffee Café set. I know, I told y’all I use it all the time. And I do. Even to make brooms.  For the bristles of the broom, I took a tassel with out the loop and glued it to the broom handle (the loop on the tassel was easy to pry open with needle nose pliers
  • The last thing was to pick out a hat.  Witch was fussy cut from the Spooky Nights Designer Series Paper

So, I was lying in bed thinking about the card and wondering how I could make this with just Stampin’ Up! products. Not everyone is as addicted to Daniel Smith watercolor as I am.  Anyway, this is what I came up with …

  • The watercolor is Fresh Fig, Berry Bliss, Cajun Craze, Night of Navy, and Pool Party ink refills. I put each color in a small flat dish added a drop or two of Wink of Stella and a few drops of water to each color.
  • Then I added splashes of craft ink that had been watered down a bit
  • The gold was made by watering down a little multipurpose glue and splattering on to the paper. Then adding glitter on top. You want to do this after the watercolor has completely dried. Trust me …I know
  • The moon is Daffodil Delight and Crushed Curry. Then I added in some Gold Wink of Stella
  • The rest of the card is the same!

The card is a A2 card size which is 4 1/4 by 5 1/2 inches.  And the layers are as follows. Buy the way, the mini tassels are on Sale right now in the Clarence Rack for $3. It is such a great deal!!

  • Card base is Fresh Fig cut at 5 1/2 inches  and scored/ burnished at 4 1/4 inches.  The total size of the paper should be 5 1/2 inches by 8 1/2 inches
  • The Basic Black Layer is 5 1/8 inches by 3 7/8 inches
  • The Watercolor Paper is 5 inches by 3 3/4 inches

How stinking cute is Ann’s flying Halloween pig!!! I personally can’t decided which I like better. I think I love the both!

This is what I want you to take away from this experiment.  That if you see a card that is watercolored with certain products from other companies. This does not mean that you can’t make something similar with just Stampin’ Up! Ink Refills.  They are awesome to work with. I love my watercolors and have many sets. I use them all. But, not everyone does. So, use what you have. You may have to get creative. But, normally that’s where the fun is!!!

A simple and sweet cat to welcome fall

There is this one product in every catalog that I just am over the moon about. Then I get it in my hands and it is just like life was ment to be.  The cat punch in the Holiday Catalog is defiantly a keeper and everyone must have it.  Don’t give me I’m not a cat person. It really does not matter of you are a cat person! The real question is are you an adorable cuteness person! I think we all love adorable cuteness!!!

Spooky Cat Bundle

Let’s take a moment and talk about this adorable bundle before we get to my card for the day.  This is such a fun bundle not only do you get the cat punch, the stamp set has a great cat that is full of Halloween words. The owl is awesome.  And you get eyes for the cat. So you can make a cat any color you would like and give him eyes.  I defiantly suggest that you not only get the cat punch but that you bundle the punch with the stamp set and save 10%.  It is well worth it!!!

I love these adorable treat boxes from the Holiday Catalog. Look at how simple is to make awesome Halloween treats!!

So, I love all the Halloween goodness of the black cat! Or little black cat is the epitome of a scaredy cat.  Anyway, I wanted to do something that was not Halloween but, still fall wonderfulness! I decided on a simple watercolor wash and a fall cat punched with the Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper.

Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper

I guess you have figured out by now that I love this paper! I promise I will use something different soon! I just can’t get enough of Painted Autumn!!!!

  • The watercolor  is Night of Navy on watercolor paper. It is a very simple wash with lots of water added to the ink.
  • The cat is punched with the Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper. Then I punched out three cats in Cajun Craze. I glued all of them together making one cat
  • The sentiment is from??? You guessed it Merry Café. I masked the sentiment to only use the Hello Fall
  • The final touch was a few sequins from the Bright Sequin Assortment

I love this side shot! It shows you how nicely the punch stacks to make a very special element for a card! Truely, card making could not get any easier. Punch a cat four times, glue them together, add a sentiment all on a simple watercolor background!! The absolute final touch was to add matching Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper to the flap of the envelope!

Merry Café

Yesterday, I shared a sweet pouch box that is perfect for a set of cards. You can see the pouch box here. Today, I’m sharing the cards that will go into the pouch as a gift! I used the same products to make coordinating cards.  The Merry Café is defiantly a favorite stamp set.

Merry Café

I love how this set coordinates with the Coffee Café bundle in the annual catalog.  The little perk up even coordinates with the small coffee cup die. What fun!

Coffee Café Bundle

I mix and match stamps from both sets all the time! I love the sketched look of the coffee cup in Merry Café so I use it a lot!!! I also adore the little coffee beans in the Coffee Café set !   They both go perfectly with the Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper.

I adore this paper! I seem to be wanting to use it on every project! The colors are just amazing and there are some watercolor wash pages that I just love!!

  • The colors are Cajun Craze, Soft Sky, and Chocolate Chip.
  • The thanks a latte (Coffee Café) is stamped in Soft Sky!  I promise thought, I’m wondering if I used Pool Party to ink my Soft Sky Ink Pad.
  • The coffee cup(Merry Café) is stamped on designer series paper then die cut with the coordinating dies Along with the coffee lid on Cajun Craze
  • The coffee cup sleeve is die cut in Crumb Cake
  • The little adorable espresso beans are stamped on Very Vanilla with Chocolate Chip ink
  • The background is a few stamps from the Merry Café set using Old Olive and Cajun Craze

  • The colors used are Cajun Craze, Daffodil Delight, and Basic Black
  • The Daffodil Delight layer is embossed with the layers leaves embossing folder
  • The sentiment is from the Merry Café set. How fun is that sentiment
  • The yellow peeping out behind the Cajun Craze coffee cup sleeve is made by cutting a yellow sleeve then cutting it in half and glueing it to the back of the other coffee  sleeve.

The card base is a Very Vanilla Note Cards (4 bar size)  The Stampin’ Up! Note Cards and envelopes are perfect for this size of card!!!  The layers are as fallows
