Starbust Sayings for Team Craft day!

Saturday was my “Team’s” monthly gathering.  We had a great time catching up with each other and making cards.  Our upline and friend even joined us via facetime.  Brian was so nice to talk with us during out gathering! Anytime I get to see his face it is a good day!!!  Even if it was on a flat screen.  The day was made even better day by getting to craft with some of my favorite people.  I am always overwhelmed by the generosty and kindness of the stamping world.  Everyone is so very supportive of others. Sharing ideas and life!  My ladies are no different! We all help each other out! And we all love seeing what the other is Creating!!  It is just a lovely way to live.

So what did we do besides talk with Brian… Well, we had lunch and made two cards one of witch I am sharing with you today. Finally, we played a game around the Stampin’ Up! colors…There defantly was lots of chatter and laughter throughout the day!

One of my favorite papers from the annual catalog is the irresistible floral specialty designer series paper.  This paper comes embossed so that you can add color to it as you choose.

Irresistibly Floral Papers

The sentament is from Sunburst Sayings stamp set.  I adore the font of the greetings in this set!  The thanks is clean and simple looking… Witch I love ❤

Sunburst Saying Stamp Set

To color the paper we used three colors of ink blending them together with the new sponge bayer.  The trick is to build your color up slowly. And not to press to hard avoiding really harsh lines.  Also, you want to overlap your colors and work back and forth between colors.  We did this using Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, and Marina Mist.

  • It is a great idea to have a set of sponge bayers for each color family. One for reds, blues, yellows, greens, neutrals, and so on…

After adding color to the paper we made our banners. Using the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig we double stamped the Thanks. First in Daffodil Delight.  Then in Calypso Coral, off setting it a bit.

Stamp-A-Ma-Jig

  • This is one of my favorite craft tools!!! It is a must have to me ?

We all know that it is the best time of year in the Stampin’ Up! world!!! Why do you say? Because it is Sale-A-Bration!!! And what does that mean? It means that we all earn FREE product!!!! And who doesn’t love FREE stuff!!!    Stampin’ Up! has made it real easy to earn Sale-A-Bration items with Paper Pumpkin.

If you want to be apart of next months Crafty gathering you should take advantage of the Ultimate Bundle aka Starter Kit and join all the fun! Loving the New Cups and Kettle Framelits and Dies

The All New Cups and Kettle Framelits and Dies are just so very wonderful.  Who does not love coffee, hot chocolate, or tea….. I in love with everything about Cups and Kettle.Have a cuppa  And if it could not get any better it is bundled with the Have a Cuppa stamp set (this saves you 15%)…. a nice cuppa bundleOf course, the dies work well with other stamp sets.  Today, I am combining the Cups and Kettle Framelits with the Happy Happenings Stamp Set.  Several of the stamps from this set fit perfectly into the the “coffee” cup framelit.  Happy Happenings

I really thought about using “today’s the day” or “thank you” but, in the end “let the cerebration of your fatuousness begin” won out!!!!!IMAG2672

The background was created using derwent Inktense Pencils.   The pencils were a Christmas gift and quickly becoming one of my favorite ways to create a watercolored look.  22051-1036-5-2ww-mI colored some ink onto watercolor paper and then washed it out with a aqua painter.  The same technique was used to  create the cup  and the steam.  The sentiment was stamped using the archival basic black ink and the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig.  The watercolor panel is backed with real red card stock.

Here is the supply list:  my Inktense Pencils came from a store called Dick Blick.

    GDP #017

I really wanted to spend the day at home under the sheets with a warm cup of coffee (then hot chocolate) flipping through magazines.   I don’t know if it was the weather or if it was just a Thursday longing for a break.  Eventually. I would get up and make cards, paint, or what ever.  Maybe, I would even cowl back into bed and just enjoy being still.  I’m convinced that Men do not really experience this longing to just be warm and cozy.  At least the man I live and work with seems love work days.   I am sure it goes back to the days of the Man being the hunter and gather and the women staying home making the cave all nice…. I will have to say, every day I am proud to have a job that I love with a person that is amazing.  But, sometimes the urge to just be at home hits and it is time for space….. This morning in he rush to try and finish up before I had to leave for work ….I was trying to make a card that was just right for Global Design Project.  Eventually, I just loaded up all my goodies and hauled everything with me to finish this amazing clean and simple card!  It has been a while scene I have been able to participate in a challenge.  So, I really wanted a card that I was supper proud of!!! And yes, I probably put to much pressure on myself this morning leading to the deep desire to hide under warm sheets!!!!!!!!

Global Design Project has a great color challenge for us this week.  Rose Red, Garden Green and Crumb Cake.  This combination is great for flowers, balloons, trees, and so much more.  (ask me how I know)  Global Design Project 017

After may different stamps were scattered all over. I decided to go back and use Crumb Cake as the card base and using a card design that I had been playing with for my Cousin.  I did change it up a bit…But, the idea is still basically the same.

My favorite stamp set so far from the Occasions Catalog is Timeless Textures.  I just love the way this set makes all sorts of backgrounds to combine with other stamps.  It’s a great complementary stamp set to help your other set really shine.  Also, this set is strong enough to stand on its own!!!

I tried several different sentiments along with my card design.  And to be frank, I just was not feeling it!!!  We both know I was in a funk!!!  So what do I do,  Well, I pulled out a few stamps that I got for Christmas (not Stampin’ Up! shhh…Don’t tell)  So this afternoon when I finally got the chance to try and finish what I had in mind.  I luckily included a set from Mint Owl Studio.  This stamp set combines perfectly with Stampin’ Up! Timeless Textures. :>

I love all the different combinations of thought I can create from this one stamp set.  Mint Owl is a small and amazing little stamp company that I am totally in Love with!!!!

    IMAG2671

The card base is a Crumb Cake Note Card.  Then using the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig I stamped the grid and the dots using Rose Red.  Then using the Garden Green stamp and wright marker I add the “leaf effect”.(only used the marker because sometime between last week and yesterday I misplaced the Garden Green Stamp Pad)  Again, using the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to get everything lined up just right!!!!  I added the sentiment from Mint Owl Studio using the Crumb Cake ink.IMAG2656

I hope you like this simple one layer card as much as I do!  I am trying to challenge myself to make more simple and elegant cards.  I really like how the sentiment complements the visual art of Timeless Texture Stamp Set!

    Awesomeness….#sharehandmadekindness

Day three of  Share Handmade Kindness.  Keeping the idea of sharing with Family and Friends.  I decided to look through and see what stamps would work for just telling someone how wonderful they are.  That is when I came across the stamp set Big News and the sentiment “is there no limit to your Awesomeness”.Big New

Perfect! Now what to do with it.  I tried a few things.  Thinking all a while that I was going to stamp and emboss the image on a background that was watercolored or textured some how.   Well, I was not really liking what I came up with.  So, I finally looked over at my stash of Designer Series Paper searching for a little spark of Inspiration.  That spark came when I started flipping through Schoolhouse Designer Series Paper.  Whammm Bammm…There it was!!!!  Now I know exactly what to do….Schoolhouse Designer Series Paper

This paper is full of color and life.  I just love all the patterns in this Designer Series Paper.  Strips, circles, polka dots, and little connecting squares.  What’s not to like?

    IMAG2360

The “is there no limit to your Awesomeness” banner is stamped on Whisper White paper (1 3/4 by 3 3/4 inches) in the new Archival Basic Gray ink.   And the layers of Pacific Point (1/8 inch larger) and Daffodil Delight (1/4 inch larger than the Pacific Point)
