This weeks challenge over at Global Design Project is CASE the Designer. This week we are challenged to CASE the very talented Mr. Brian King. He is amazing and full of ideas to make stamping so fun!
The idea of the challenge is to take any elements of this card to make your own card. I decided to use the colors the soft blue and white with the bold red. Then I wanted to use the square shape… I also used the basic layout for the card. I did not have any cute little penguins or other winter animals. So, I replaced the penguins with the trees from Festival of Trees.
This is a great stamp set in the Annual Catalog.

The card base is Mint Macaron card stock cut at 10 inches and scored at 5 inches. The frame is made from Cherry Cobbler card stock and the Squares Collection Framelits. Inside the frame the background is Soft Sky that was stamped with the little snow flakes from Holly Jolly Greetings. Stamp the flakes with versa mark ink then add White embossing powder. Heat emboss the snow.
One tree is inside the shaker and the other is predominantly on the outer layer. It is hard to tell but, there is a layer of snow on the inside of the shaker as well as the two layers on the outer layer. The shaker consist of sequins and glitter (white and silver) The trees are stamped with Mint Macaron ink on shimmery white paper. The sentiment is stamped with Smoky Slate ink.

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s November Blog Hop! Today’s hop is filled with inspiring projects that share the gratefulness of the season. Whether you are ready to celebrate Thanksgiving this week or just feel reflective of the things that make you thankful, we are sure you’ll find great inspiration from our talented team members. After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.
I have been so excited about this day. The InKing Royalty are so full of creativity. I love hopping along to see what the fellow Royal’s have created. I hand many plans for you guys today. And over the weekend while I was preparing for today. The creativity was at a standstill. So, my many ideas were duds… I tried many things but, just was not feeling it. So finally. I decided to just step away…. Monday rolled around and I knew I had to make something for you guys and our Blog hop theme. I decided to fall back on one of my favorite card layouts and a stamp set that has many great little scenes. Happy Scenes saved the day!!!!

The scenes are just to cute. I love the little pumpkins. and the birds in the snow. Not to mention the little spider (I think that’s the only spider I will ever like).
The card base is Daffodil Delight card stock cut at 5 1/2 inches and scored at 4 1/4 inches. The card layer is Mossy Meadow that has been embossed with the Decorative Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The strip at the bottom is a watercolor piece that I had left from another project. The tree and pumpkin scene is stamped in Basic Black on Shimmery White Paper (3 by 2 1/2) and then colored with Stampin’ Wright Markers. The sky is colored using a aqua painter and Soft Sky ink. (It’s hard to tell from the picture) The picture is backed with another piece of “scrap” watercolor paper (3 1/4 by 2 3/4) and Daffodil Delight card stock(3 1/2 by 3). I failed to stamp my sentiment before putting the card together. There for it is a wonky….But, that’s how you can tell it was hand made. It’s driving me crazy…But, I am going to live with it. To go along with the card I made a little pillow box to stick a little goody in for a friend.
The pillow box was a breeze to make with the die set and a Big Shot. I cut out the pillow box die twice. And then used the same Decorative Dots Embossing Folder to add texture to the box. I tied a simple know around the box to hold the sides closed. Stamp two leaves from Lighthearted Leaves to add a little “fall” to the card. Then using the Seasonal Frame Thinlet Die Set cut out the word grateful.
The pillow Box was quick to put together using the Tear & Tape Adhesive. Just add the tape to the two flaps and adhere. Truly it is that easy!!!!!
Be sure to hop all along the Blog hop! I have been supper excited about all the talent that flows through all the InKing Royalty. And after one particular Sneak Peak, I know this hop will not disappoint!!! So exciting :>
