Over at Global Design Project, they have a great challenge going on.  The design team really have some great inspiration for all of us so be sure to check it out!  I am super excited to be playing along this week!  It has been a while sence I had the chance to play with Global Design Team!  So, Yeppie :>

GDP027 Thank you

The theme is Thank You so of course I had to pull out my favorite Thank You set.

One Big Meaning

One Big Meaning

I have not used this set in a while and I am not quite sure why.  So it was nice to playing with it again.  IMAG3012

Here are a few notes:

  • The card base is Pear Pizzazz cut at 5 1/2 inches and scored at 4 1/4 inches.  The card layers are So Saffron and Shimmery White
  • The background is made with the Happy Patterns Decorative Masks, Clarity Stencil Brushes, and the ink colors So Saffron, Pear Pizzazz, and Soft Sky.  I taped the mask down over shimmery white paper then using the stencil brush picking up the ink directly from the ink pad added color to the card.
  • The soft yet bold background works perfect with the One Big Meaning Stamp set.
  • While I had my mask out, it was easy to make several backgrounds at once.
  • If using the same color palate it is not necessary to clean mask in between backgrounds.  The ink on the mask will help make interesting color combinations as you work.

Here are two other examples.  The first using a dotted mask I have had a while.  The second is with the diamonds from Happy Patterns Decorative Mask. IMAG3025

The colors are Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, and Tempting Turquoise.  But, because I  blended the Daffodil Delight and Tempting Turquoises inks the middle is green….

The Card base is Pear pizzazz .  And the base layer is So Saffron

IMAG3027

The colors used on this card are  Crystal Pewter, Smokey Quarts, and Light Onyx by the Ton Stamp Company

The card base is Always Artichoke card stock. The Base layer is So Saffron

The bold sentiment complement the sketched flowers perfectly.  So, recently when had the occasion to make a thank you card for a fellow Stampin’ Up! demonstrator I went for this destined pair to do all the magic for me.

IMAG2290

This was such a fun card to make.  I stamped the image using the new Archival Basic Black ink on Acrylic Paper. Then with a Aqua Painter and Watercolor Graphite by ArtGraf I painted the flower

Purchase from DickBlick

Purchase from DickBlick

After letting the image dry, I decided to use a spray fixative because the graphite was still smudging a bit…Something like Krylon UV Archival.  I hate the way this smell so I always do this outside!

I had to practice for a few days to really get the look I wanted from the watercolor Graphite.  I had seen a friend (yes, Understand Blue…Have you not checked her out yet…you so should) use the product and know it was something worth trying…though my first attempts were complete failures….I kept at it…changed papers and had much better success….Here are some of my second attempts at testing the Watercolor GraphiteIMAG2295

It is always good to test “play around” with a new medium so that you know how it reacts with water or how it lays on different papers.

The card base is watercolor paper that is cut to be 5 1/2 inches by 8 1/2 inches. Then scored at 4 1/4 inches using the Simply Scored.  Then using the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig  added the sentiment…”you are to kind Thank You”

Back the image with Basic Black card stock and add to the card base using Stampin’ Dimensionals

One Big Meaning and Remarkable You

Today’s card just blew me away when I first made it.  It was about a month ago, I was getting ready for our local Garden Tour (Historic Decatur Garden Tour).  They asked me to set a booth up of garden inspired cards.  This was my favorite card I mad for this event.  I was so very inspired by how easy these two stamps combined to make one Amazing card.   The two stamp set used are One Big Meaning (the set used to make yesterday’s card) and Remarkably You.

Here is a look at the stamp sets:

Remarkable You

IMAG1379

When I made this card I was so overwhelmed with the results and how absolutely beautiful the card turned out.  I decided to make several versions using  different flowers from Remarkable You and different thank you’s from One Big Meaning.

Here are the Details:

  • The Stamp A Ma Jig is a must!!! To line everything up just right.  My up line Brian King has a great little video explaining how to use this great tool. Check out his video at Stamp A Ma Jig video by Brian King.  Once you get the hang of the Stamp A Ma Jig it is a breaze to line up this card.
  • The Whisper White Note Card with a Whisper White panel.  The panel is just a sligt bit smaller than the note card.  The size of the note cards  is 3 1/2 by 5  and the panel is 3 3/8 by 4 7/8.   Use the dementials to pop up the panel after you have stamped your image.
  • Stamp your images on the panel using StazOn Ink.  I used StazOn ink in Stone Gray.  Though our StazOn Jet Black or the Stampin’ Up! color Basic Gray would work as well.

It is that simple to have a beautiful card.  To amazing images come together for a easy and quick card.  It would be easy enough to make sets of this card and give as birthday gifts or even Christmas gifts.  Who  would not love such fabulous hand made gift.   Both images are bold and create a WOW factor when stamped together.

Here are the other versions of this card:

Weather you are giving this card as a gift or as a thank you remember to step it up.  I stamped my envelopes with coordinating flower.  Use your Envelope Liners Framelits to line the envelopes.  Also, make this cute little bag to go along with your card.  More details about this bag are coming up soon.  I hope you love today’s card as much as I do.  Please let me know witch one is  your favorite.  Have a happy Saturday!!

One Big Meaning

We all have those people in our lives that deserve a Big Thank You!!!! I know I do!!! So let’s take a moment and remember to say “thank you” to all the people who in rich our lives.  What a different world we would live in if everyone would remember to be grateful to the people around them every day.   Today’s card is a step towards saying  “thanks”.  It is a simple design that packs a lot of impact with a classic print and a bold sentiment.

So here is today’s card

One Big Meaning 8

The Details:

  • The Card base is a Whisper White Note Cards & Envelopes.  The size is 5 x 3 1/2
  • The Paper is from the new Designer Series Paper Stack Go Wild and is cut to 4 7/8 by 3 3/8
  • The stamp  is from One Big Meaning
  • The essential tool used was the Stamp A Ma Gig.  The Stamp A Ma Gig makes lining the words up a breaze. Once I got use to using the Stamp A Ma Gig I can’t live with out it!!!! It is a must have tool
  • The Paper used is Basic Black (3 7/8 x 1 7/8) and Whisper White (3 6/8 x 1 6/8)

Now to step it up a notch…

One Big Meaning 9

So here are 3 ways to step up this card:

  • Use your Big Shot die cutting machine and make a envelope liner using the Envelope Liners Framelits
  • Stamp the out side of the card with that wonderfully big Thanks! (they will be sure to know you appreciate them)  When stamping this Thanks… I simply masked the top words off/then inked my stamp/ removed the mask/ stamped the image.  Post it note tape works very will for masking.
