Blog Loving Friends Spring Hop

This is my second time hoping with this very talented group of Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators. This month we are celebrating the upcoming spring season.  I can’t wait for 75 and sunny!!!

I have really taken a step back over the past few weeks and thought about basic stamping and how pretty it can be. There is something to be said about going back to the basics! Or in this case your first ❤. Stamping does not always have to lead to coloring, collage, ventage looks, and so on. We all should learn to embrace the simple elegance of a beautiful stamped image!  So, today I’m sharing a series of cards that are stamped in whisper white pigment ink.  The sentiments are all stamped in basic black.  This gives good contrast to the white stamping.  I adore clean and simple cards! They always seem to have a great modern feel to me!   I have been in mass production card making mood. Clean and simple cards definitely make mass production easier and fun!  So, here we go…

This card is not  necessarily a spring card.  Though I do think that being on the beach does scream spring break. This beach seems more exotic get away to me. Anyhow,  I really just wanted to share that this simple technique really works with just about style of stamp! I love how the white stamping on the gray looks like an etching

Some colors just scream spring! Coastal Cabana is definitely one of those colors!  I have been thinking about how I really wanted to use this swirly stamp from Beauty Abounds.  The white and simplicity of the card really allows for the beauty of the stamp shine!!!!

The Wonderful Romance stamp set is quickly becoming a favorite!  I truly love this set so much!! Granny Apple Green is another one of those. “It must be spring” colors!  This is truly a happy color!!!

The All That You Are stamp set has everything I love about stamping! Pretty images that are perfect for coloring. Yet, beautiful enough to be simply stamped. I kept each card quite simple. But, you could add thread, bakers twine, sequins, or enamel dots to spice it up a bit!

I have been longing to use the pretty roses in the Tea Together stamp set!  I’m hoping to get a moment to color them very soon! But, until then I will just stamp them to creat my one custom Designer Paper! What fun!!!

I hope you will give your white pigment ink a second look!  It really is a wonderful way to make several cards quickly. Especially now that we have a stamperatious.

Each of your comments makes me smile! Please, comment HERE.

I hope each of you will continue to hop along with the Blogging Friends Blog Hop! Happy Friday my sweet creative friends!

Happy Creating-

Jennifer

Inking Royalty On Word – Birthday! Blog Hop

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s February Blog Hop! This year’s Blog Hop themes are inspired by a single word – and this month our projects are centered around BIRTHDAY. It’s always special to celebrate the birthday of someone you love, so handmade birthday cards are always fun to share. We are excited to share our creations with you today! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

I am supper excited that Mary Fish is hoping along with us this month!!! Welcome, Mary and all of your faithful blog followers!  Mary is one of the most Delightful people I know!! She’s what I call “A Keeper”

I have had a few products lying around waiting for me to get organized and crafting again after moving. Hopefully, in the next week or two I will be pretty much able to craft in my new space . So, that’s exciting!! Oh yea, my products are just looking at me begging to be used!!  I kinda had been hoarding Florentine Filigree waiting on the perfect moment to use it!  I love this bundle from the Occasions Catalog!!!

I actually only used the stamp set! That die though is amazing!!! I’m so looking forward to actually using it!!!

  • First thing is first!!! I cut the stamps apart!!!  Inhale, exhale, just breath!!! Your stamps will survive a little cutting!!!
  • The background was watercolored …you can use your ink refill or watercolor pencils.
  • Then using the Stamperatious, I stamped all the images. Because, I used watercolor paper the Stamperatious allowed me to stamp in the same place multiple times ..
  • Even using the Stamperatious my sentiment was crooked, oh well…nwell…now I need to just breath and remember, this is a handmade card it will be okay

  • Making your own designer paper can be very fun and rewarding!!
  • The first thing was to stamp each image from Florentine Filigree and Wonderful Romance
  • Then color everything in!! These images are so small they are actually perfect for your stamp n wright markers.  At least that was what I was thinking when I was using my Stampin blends
  • Always, make more watercolor washes than you need!!! You will always find uses for them!

I hope you’ll hop along to the next stop on the blog hop,Deb Cozzone at Grand Central Stamping. There’s lots of inspiration to be found in this group – and you don’t want to miss it!

Pretty Paper….

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s December Blog Hop! This year’s Blog Hop themes are inspired by popular songs – this month’s song is “Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons.” As you can guess, our Blog Hop today is filled with projects that are inspired by beautiful paper and beautiful ribbons – how clever! We are excited to share our creations with you today! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

I’m not really sure what my card has to do with the theme of this month’s Inking Royalty Blog Hop, Pretty Paper Pretty Ribbons.  This is what I know.  This song brings up memory of record players (the big furniture type), Elvis, Willie, and that wandering thought as a child “why do adults love such a sad sounding song at Christmas”. Side note, my sweet Granny always claimed to be kin to Elvis…

What I decided to do for y’all was completely change plain white watercolor paper with a little ink, embossing, stamps, and watercolors.

The holidays are always full of the hustle and bustle of the season that we forget to relax and just enjoy the moment.  Making Christmas Cards helps me to stop, breath, and just be.  How???

Well, by breaking each set of cards down into easy steps….compleating one step at a time. So, I do all my cutting at one time, I make all my card Bases at once, I stamp all at once, then color, and so on and so on…in the end I have a set of completed Christmas Cards

For today’s card my first step was to stamp and heat emboss the ornaments from the Beautiful Baubles Stamp Set.  The second step was particularly relaxing. Using some of my favorite watercolors, I loosely and sloppily watercolor each ornament. I did this over Thanksgiving weekend.  Watching football and watercolor was just a perfect combination. People who know me know, I very rarely create while watch tv.  But, I do enjoy repetitive creating while watching football

The next step was to fussy cut the ornaments out.  Fussy cutting is another very relaxing process.  Just get your paper snips and the paper and cut away.  It really is something you can do while enjoying the lights of the tree or watching your favorite Christmas Movie.

The next step was to watercolor backgrounds.  I have been in love with the Daniel Smith watercolor for a while now. One of my favorite combinations this holiday has been Sap Green, Ultramarine Turquoise, and Ultramarine Blue.  So, one night I sat down with a glass of wine, a good podcast, Christmas lights, watercolored backgrounds,  relaxed and enjoyed the process

The next step was to heat emboss the edges.  Heat embossing to me is a perfect morning activity.  Just me my coffee versa mark ink, embossing powder and a heat gun. No taking or communicating needed Just simply completing a task…

After finishing the heat embossing It was time to assemble the cards.  I normally take all my watercolor panels and stick them under a stack of cook books on top of my refrigerator. That’s where they will stay for several days. This helps flatten them out . But, with Holiday creating and life who has time for that??? So, instead I used the multipurpose adhesive sheets. I cut strips of the sheets and added it to the back of each watercolor panel!! Then popped the ornament up with dimensionals.  The very last step was to add the pretty bow. I went with the prettiest bakers twine I have ever seen…Sliver and Pool Party….swoon

Each bauble and each background is unique!! I have not decided if these guys will stand on their own or if I will add a sentiment on the front as well.  What do you guys think????

You are Wonderful!

The Natures Poem Designer Series Paper is beautiful!  I love one particular paper because of the softness of the leaves.  The paper looks like faded burlap with a soft twig and leaf pattern on top!  It is Wonderful!  This paper was my inspiration for today’s The Creative Way card!

The Creative Way – A Product Feature

Rooted In Nature Stamp Set is available in a Bundle with the Nature’s Roots Framelits Dies. (Available June 2)  Theses dies cut the trees and leaves in the set. There are also dies that make an embossed leaf. These embossed leaves are beautiful!  They add settle texture to your cards.

The Nature’s Poem Designer Series Paper is full of Natured inspired patterns! This paper can take a wide range of cards from Masculine to soft and sweet!

Nature

Nature’s Poem Designer Series Paper

I really like how soft some of the Nature’s Poem patterns are!  Yet there are some bold patterns that compliment the softness of the leaves.  Like I said above, I particularly love this soft Mint Macaroon leafy twig pattern on top of the soft burlap pattern! It is just beautiful!

You are Wonderful

  • The first step was to use the textured leaf dies.  This is how I did that.  The first thing was to ink up the embossing die.  Then gently laying it onto whisper white. Finally embossing using the Big Shot
  • You can see on my leaves where ink was in spaces besides the vanes. But, I decided to use them anyway.  1. It is a handmade card, this adds to that feel. And 2. I think this makes it look more like nature. Imperfections are beautiful in Nature.
  • The You are Wonderful is layered using the Stitched Shapes Dies and the Layering Ovals Dies

I really love all the looks you can create from the leaves in the Rooted In Nature stamp set and the Nature’s Roots Dies!

Abstract Impressions Bundle

Abstract Impressions Bundle

I love that Abstract Impressions is Bundled with a floral die and butterfly!  I gotta feeling you will too!  The floral die is absolutely gorgeous!!

The color combination is all new Stampin’ Up! colors as well!  Mango Melody, Gorgeous Grape, Granny Apple Green, and  Gray Granite

Abstract Impressions Thank You

  • The rose is stamped using all three layering stamps. The base is Mango Melody stamped off once. The second layer is Mango Melody at full strength.  The third layer is Grapefruit Grove. Some of the roses have all three layers. Some only have two of the three layers.
  • The purple flower is Highland Heather for the base. This color stamps a lot darker than it looks when dry.  Then Gorgeous Grape stamped on top
  • The leaves are Granny Apple Green. The inside of the leaves are Granny Apple Green stamped off once
  • The final step was to add some Gray Granite dots by statistically inking one of the flower stamps
