Yesterday was a big day. Stampin’ Up! gave there demonstrators a digital look at the up coming Occasions and Sale-A-Bration catalogs.  All I can say is … I’m in love all over again!!!  The up coming catalog is AMAZING!!!

My friend Brian had a nice little seek peek a few weeks ago.  While at Founder’s Circle he got a bag of goodies from the upcoming Occasions Catalog.  happy-birthday-to-you

Is that not the cutest paper ever.  And the watercolor look is so right now!!!  Be sure to check out all of Brian’s post about Founder’s Circle.

Another wonderful friend, Lydia at Understand Blue shared a fun little sneak peek that just might be my favorite stamp set from the upcoming Occasions Catalog.  Though, I will have to say…It changes every time I look through the Up Coming catalog.  (email me for your copy)  When I say, It’s the best catalog ever.  It really is!  I truly think there is something for everyone :>

It’s the love bug all tie died up!!!!  Be sure to check out Lydia’s blog at Understand Blue.  She has a great little video showing  how she tie died  the “love bug”

Looks like I need to attend more Stampin’ Up! events!!!!!

So now, back to fall.  I am still working on Share Handmade Kindness.  It is taking me a while to complete some of the projects I wanted to do for this month.  One of witch was to send cards to members of the Military that I personally know or know through friends.  This has been so rewarding.  I have a deer friend who’s husband is a member of the Coast Guard.  They have always been so faithful to our Country.  I have always admired how they were so willing to go where the job leads them.  Among about a million other reasons that tie into the Coast Guard.

One of the things I wanted was to Shower this family with cards of “Thanks”.  So many friends have sent cards.  If you would like to join Me in thanking The Moulder Family for all there years of dedication to our Country.  You can!

Here is How:

Send a Card Double Enveloped.  The inside envelope (the one the Moulders will receive) should be addressed to The Moulders.   The Outside Envelop should be addressed to Me.  When I receive a card.  I will pass it along to the family.  Easy peasy.  And we both get the opportunity to Share Handmade Kindness!!!! Yahooo…. If you have any questions just email me at [email protected]

Here is my address:

The other part of what I have been doing is asking everyone I know.  Do you know someone in the Military (currently or retired) that could use a thank you  card.  Either to the person or their family.  So it is only appropriate that I ask you.  If you know someone that is in the Military and you would like for me to send them a card thanking them for there service.  Please, email me at [email protected]  I really feel that we should take more time to be thankful that there are people who are willing to defend our country!

This brings me to my card for today.  I made this card as a part of Share Handmade Kindness (still working on last weeks challenge) I wanted to create a card that expressed my thought but, not necessarily patriotic.  I wanted something more  fall and manly. I decided on Thankful Forest Friends.  Though, now that I think about it.  Manly may not be the best word for the adorable little forest friends….Thankful Forest Frends

Some stamp sets I just do not pull out enough.  This fall that set has been Tankful Forest Friends.  The Bear is just the most adorable little bear.  And the fox is a cutie pie as well.  And don’t get me started on the preciousness of the bunny.  I also, really love the statements with the fall accents. There is just so much to love about this stamp set.

This card is a square  4 1/4 by 4 1/2 card.   The colors used are Rich Razzleberry, Cajun Craze, and Early Espresso.  The wood background is part to the Designer Series Paper Into The Woods.  This card is perfect for making multiple cards.  (I normally don’t do this…)  Because it is quick and easy to put together.  Just some simple stamping and cutting.

You guys know I just love the stamp set Dove of Peace.  It will be retiring soon from the Stampin’ Up! collection.  So if you have not gotten this must have stamp.  Your time is running out.  Today, Stampin’ Up! announced what will be retiring from the Holiday Catalog.  This is always a exciting time when a retiring list comes out.  Because, this means their are many new exciting  now items to come!

A few weeks ago I had the chance to make a card using Dove of Peace for Conformation.  The dove is so perfect for such a occasion.  While making this card I kept thinking about this…”Heaven came down and Glory filled my Soul” …heven-came-down

I was going to use these words.  But, unfortunately I had lost my “e” in the Back to Basics stamp set.  Do you know how hard it is to letter words with out a “e”!!!!  Anyway,  I decided on the simple words of love and Peace.  For this is what conformation is truly about!

IMAG2337

The card base is Blackberry Bliss card stock cut at 5 1/2 inches and scored at 4 1/4 inches.  The Delightful Dijon layer is  5 1/4 inches by 4 inches.  The layers on the left side are a combination of Bermuda Bay, Delightful Dijon, and Bohemian Designer Series Paper.  The circle layer was made with ink refills and watercolor paper.  I simply used a aqua painter and painted the color on and allowed the colors to mix.  Using the Christmas Greetings and the Big Shot cut out the word “peace” in Bermuda Bay.  The “&’ is from Back to Basics stamp set.  The word “love came from a past paper pumpkin kit (Chalk It Up)

The dove was stamped after coloring it with a combination of Blackberry Bliss,, Delightful Dijon, and Bermuda Bay Stampin’ Write Markers.  After stamping the Dove use your paper snips to cut the dove out!

Dove of Peace is such a versatile stamp!  It can be used for all sorts of occasions!!!!  You will not regret have this stamp in your collection!!!!!!  And remember that most of the Holiday Catalog is Retiring and will be gone on January 4th.  Some items will be gone before then.  Because, they are while Supplies Last!!!!
