Watercolor Wings

We have many New and Wonderful stamp set with the Annual Catalog and up coming Holiday Catalog.   It would be really easy to forget about the amazing stamps we already had… I don’t want them to get lonely.  So make sure you get them inky from time to time!  I decided to us my Watercolor Wings stamp set today.  For this very reason.  It had been a while sence the stamps has seen ink and they were feeling a little left out! That’s just no good.  So, I gave them a little love with two challenges today.  The SU!Only Challenge and The Fab. Friday Challenge. The Fab. Friday has a great sketch challenge going on right now!

The SU!Only Challenge is featuring butterflies and dragonflies. How fun is that!!

Earley in the week was the Inking Royalty Blog Hop.  Lynn Kolcun featured a card that uses Stampin’ Up! ink refills on a gel plate to create a fun background. She had cased the technique from Lydia at Understand Blue.  So, now I’m CASEing both of them. What fun!!!

Watercolor Wings is one of those stamp sets that I just love! It makes it so easy to make pretty butterflies by layering the stamps!

Watercolor Wings

The butterflies in this set are gorgeous. The stamp I use the most is the little dots in a row! I love this set so much and those dots!!.

  • The panel that looks like watercolor is glossy white paper , inks, and a pressed with the gel plate.  Very similar to watercolor smooching. I used Marina Mist, Pool Party, and Lemon Lime Twist
  • After doing the gel plate technique I added some ink spatters in Tranquil Tide and Smoky Slate. Using my markers to flick color onto the card
  • The colors for the butterfly are Daffodil Delight, Powder Pink, and Calypso Coral.
  • The ribbon is New in the Holiday Catalog! 5/8″ burlap ribbon
  • The sequins are from the iridescent mix
  • The Pool Party layer is embossed with the polka dot basics embossing folder

Each of your comments makes me smile! Please, comment HERE.

The envelope was given a little love as well. Using the small butterfly and the dots I love so much!

Cut it out Pal’s Blog Hop

Welcome to the August 2017 Pals Blog Hop. Thank you so much for joining us today. This month we’re going to “Cut It Out”. Participants will feature projects with “cuts” from punches, dies, Framelits, Edgelits, or Thinlits. Whether you’re just starting the hop, or have come from a previous Pal’s blog, you’ll find the line-up toward the end of my post to help you move along.

I am super excited to be hopping along with the Pal’s!! I can’t wait to see what everyone is making! I know it is going to be great!! I decided to feature a thinlit die from the Holiday Catalog. The Chandelier Thinlits is just beautiful!

It has everything you need to make different chandeliers for the Holidays and non-holiday cards. It coordinates with the Season to Sparkle stamp set.

This set gives you all the little extras for decorating your chandelier.

It also has a different chandelier that coordinates with the dies.

I love these samples from Stampin’ Up!

They show you all the different fun ways to accent the chandeliers.

  • The Smoky Slate is embossed with the Polka Dots Basic embossing folder
  • To make the Chandelier, Add an adhesive sheet to both sides of whisper white. Then cut it out with your thinlit and Big Shot. After it is cut and removed from the thinlit, only remove the protective sheet from one side of the die cut. This will revile the adhesive. Add mixed leafing flakes to the adhesive. Buff away any extra.
  • The specialty designer series paper is Year of Cheer (available Sep.1) you are going to freak at how gorgeous this paper is. I also used a small strip of silver washi tape from the same suite of products! These two were paired with the Shimmer Powder Pink ribbon.
  • The final bling was a little rhinestone at the top and the copper embossed sentiment

The dimensions for this card are as fallows.  The card base is 4 1/4 by 5 1/2 inches.  I cut a piece of Blushing Bride at 4 1/4 inches on the 8 1/2 inch side of a 8 1/2 by 11 piece of card stock.   Then scored at 5 1/2 inches.  This created a top folding card.  You will need a Whisper White that is 4 1/16 by 5 3/8 inches.  To this the Cheer to the Year Designer Series Paper and the Smoky Slate are attached.  The Cheer to the Year DSP is cut to 3 /4  by 5 3/8 inches. The Smoky Slate is 3 1/2 by 5 3/8 inches .   You will need a Champagne that is 4 1/8 by 5 7/16 .  For the Sentiment The Blushing Bride is 13/16  by 2 inches. The Cheer to the Year DSP is 3/4 by 2 inches
