Cool Treats for Global Design Project #061

Over the weekend I attended On Stage local for Stampin’ Up! in Atlanta.  We had a great time.  Seeing new products, and sharing ideas with each other.  I love my time with my Stamping Friends.  They always make me fill so loved.  And I can truly say, that you could never have met a nicer group of people.  I was super excited to meet some of my online friends.  And they are even more Awesome and Amazing in person!!!!   The only thing that makes me sad about the weekend is that I did not get the chance to talk to everyone I wanted to.  Maybe, next time.

On Friday, I attended the WCMD event hosted by Brian King and Pam Morris.  They did a fabulous job with the event.  Everything was so well-organized.  Several people presented demonstrations on everything from 3-D projects to watercolor.  I really learned some amazing tips and tricks that I will be sharing soon.  I have already started trying a few of the watercolor tips.   Speaking of watercolor, have you heard.  Stampin’ Up! is introducing watercolor pencil in the Occasions Catalog.  I can not wait to have watercolor pencil in Stampin’ Up! colors. Yeppie!!!!!

This is my new friend Bobby.  She is a delightful soul.  She just jumped right in and joined our little group.  I really enjoyed getting to know her a little bit!

Though Kim and I are in the same town.  We don’t get to stamp together as often as I would like.  It was fun to have two days with her stamping, chatting, and of course lots of laughter.

I just adore any time with My Pam.  Yes she is MINE!  I have claimed her so, it is just your bad…. Pam is so full of life and that rubbed off on all of those around her!  I already miss her  and I’m looking forward to the next time we can have some good times together!

I totally missed getting pictures with a few people who I just loved getting to see.  I had to give my friend Robbye a hug every time I saw her.  She is such a light!  And I had so much fun rooming with Imogene.  We had a great trip getting to know each other better.  I really loved rooming with her.  Next time, we will have to get pictures.  Some how, I did not get pictures with Brian or Shawn.   I know right????  How did that happen????  And there are so many others….

My card today will be going to Brian as a thank you for such a wonderful weekend.  I always love to see how God works in my life.  And when I joined Stampin’ Up! under Brian, I just knew from the first conversation that we were ment to be in each others lives.  He brings out a side of me that most people do not get to see.  His energy wears off on all those around him!  I can’t even begin to express how much our friendship means.  I used the sentiment from Painter’s Palette.  “Our friendship is a work of art” .  This is exactly how I feel about Brian.

I paired this with one of the stamp sets from the up coming Occasions catalog.  Cool Treats.  This is a set that is ment to build ice cream cones and popsicle.  How much fun is that!  I used three of the cone bases to creat a fun and bright patterned background.  The color inspiration is from this weeks Global Design Challenge.  It has been a while sence I participated in a challenge.  But, this color combination was just to good to pass by.  Be sure to hop over to Global Design Project to check out all the amazing talented designers!

Is that not just the prettiest color combination!  I am not a huge fan of Sweet Sugarplum.  But, this combination has won me over.20161109_081841

I really love the combination of the two fonts for the sentiment!

This card was quite easy to make.  I just stamped the background and then popped it up on layers of color.  Everything, looks better on layers of color.  Then I stamped the sentiment and layered it up.  Do you see the trend???  Layers good!!! Finally, I added a little ribbon for another touch of color.

Stampin’ Up! is having a great sale on stamp set that coordinate with the all new Stitched Shapes Framelits.  25% off.  That’s a Big Deal!!!!  So be sure to check it out.  shareableimage_2_na

These dies are amazing!  I can not wait to use mine!  As soon as Mr. UPS delivers them to me.  I will be doing my happy dance and making something with these little jewels.  I love that Stampin’ Up! is offering 25% off stamp sets during November.  Just in time for all the last-minute holiday crafting.  Fun Fun!

I hope each of you have a great and amazing day!  I would love to hear your thoughts or questions!  I will be back soon with more inspiration for you.  And, I still have a few more pictures to share with you from On Stage Atlanta.  And be sure to stop by Global Design Project.  They are truly amazing group!

Much Love,

Jennifer

The Global Design Project team has a great color challenge going in.  Basic Black, Melon Mambo, and Smokey Slate.   I love, love, love all the cards by the design team.   So be sure to hop over to Global Design Project to check out all there wonderful projects. This color combination is  so very happy!   Just seeing the color Melon Mambo makes me happy.  And you guys know I love Smokey Slate :>GDP045_Colour_Challenge

For my design I decided to go completely clean and simple.  Relying on this fabulous color combination to shine!  I have been trying to push myself into doing more 3-d projects.  Stampin’ Up! makes it really easy with the variety of boxes they provide for the big shot.  One of which is the new Popcorn Box.  This little box is perfect to treats of any kind.  It is extremely easy to put together….

Here is a little video by Stampin’ Up! all about the Popcorn Box

Seeing all those popcorn boxes lined up in all their glory makes me want fall to come with all of its Carmel popcorn, popcorn balls, and just wonderful popcorn watching football…..

Popcorn box

I kept things pretty simple with the actual box.  And used the coordinating stamp set to make that fabulous tag.    Now no popcorn box would be complete without a card to go along side….IMAG3491

The card features many of the same elements as the popcorn box and the tag.  This helps bring both the card and the box together as one .    I just love the new selections of washi tape.  I have been using them a lot to add little accents of color to cards.  The Melon Mambo washi is from the Pop of Pink Designer Series Washi TapePop of Pink Designer Wahsi Tape

Here is one last look at the two projects.  And I will have to say, just look how cute the two are together.  Just a little match made in heaven….IMAG3497

Bundle to save.  When you purchase the Ready to Pop bundle you are saving 10%  Think about all the cute little popcorn boxes you could make.  And the set is great for other projects as well!!  I am compleatly in love with the little rick rack die!!!  I know I will be using him a lot!!!!

Live, Love, Grow GDP042

I have told you guys many times that Global Design Project is my favorite challenge to participate in.  I just love the talent on the Design team.  This week I made sure that I took time to create a project for there challenge.  I encourage each of you to play along with the Global Design Team.  Here is this weeks banner.GDP042

When the new catalog came out there were a few stamps (more that a few actually) that was on my must have list!  Close to the top of the list was a great little set called Live, Love, Grow.  I just LOVE the name of this set and even better it is one of the sentiments!!!

Live, Love, Grow

Live, Love, Grow

The succulents and the bell jar terrarium just make this set precious.  It even included the glass jar topper.  Thought, I forgot to use it. Woops….Rocks, and dirt…They really did think of everything! I am head over heals in love with this set.  Live, Love, Grow for Global Design Project

Here are a few details:

  • On cold press watercolor paper I watercolored a blue background with a little aqua in it.   Though, in the picture you can’t really tell it.
  • Then I stamped the bell jar terrarium with the archival basic black ink.
  • Then using only the solid images from the stamp set I stamped my little garden using a varity of green inks and Tip Top Taupe ink for the rocks and dirt.
  • The background is the Brick Wall Textured Impression on Tip Top Taupe card stock
  • For a little contrast I added a Watermelon Wonder ribbon  behind the bell jar terrarium
  • All that is left is to stamp the sentiment…

Live love grow

Here is the supply list:

  • Card Stock:  Thick Whisper White, Tip Top Taupe, Watermelon Wonder, Watercolor Paper
  • Ink: Tip Top Taupe, Garden Green, Old Olive, and Cucumber Crush
  • Textured impression: Brick Wall
  • Other: Stampin’ Dimentionals, multipurpose glue, Watermelon Wonder 5/8 inch mini striped ribbon

In life we should a live, love and grow a little!  I personally don’t like the growing part.  I can live, and I can love (most of the time) , but growing to be a better human is challenging….I wish I could just eat and grow to be better person and not grow in size.  Would that not be the best.  Eat something wonderful like, Hot fudge cake and it would give you some kind of mystical power to be a better person!   Well, I am going to think on that for a while.  Hope all of you are enjoying your Forth of July Holiday Weekend.  I am crafting all weekend getting ready for the Christmas in July class.

Much Love,

Jennifer

Global Design Project #GDP33

The design team over at Global Design Project has been hosting wonderful challenges for us all.  I just love all the wonderful projects brought to us each week by Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from all over the world!!   The latest challenge is a color challenge.   Night of Navy, Calypso Coral, and Sahara Sand.  This is a fabulous color combination that can be quite springy, but can lean it other seasons as well.  As I was making my card, I thought my background would make a fab. card for a Auburn fan.  So, it just might come back around when football season rolls around.  (Though, I think I will just let someone else make that card ….hummm…but, the idea is rolling around in the head)  Anyway, on with the color challenge.  Global Design Project 033

When thinking about the card I wanted to make.  I could see stripes of Night of Navy and Calypso Coral.  I had several different different choices of how to make these stripes.  I could have used masking, or the striped decorative mask or even strips of paper.  In the end, Strips of paper won out.  I wanted a bold background that was purely navy and coral.  The simple stamped image from Your Sublime really stands out against the bold background.    Your Sublime

These adorable images are so much fun to color!!!  I just love stamping with them.

IMAG3185

Here are a few details:

  • The wheelbarrow image is stamped in versa mark ink on Hot Press watercolor paper and then heat embosses using basic black embossing powder.
  • Using Night of Navy, Calypso Coral, and Sahara Sand ink refills and a Aqua Painter the image was water-colored.
  • The background was made by gluing 1/2 inch strips of Night of Nave and Calypso Coral card stock to a panel of Whisper White.

Just so that you know!!!    Back embossing powder will be retiring soon!  So, be sure to buy yours now!!!

Love for Global Design Project #019

Global  Design Project is celebrating love with there challenge this week.  I have been thinking about what I wanted to make for this challenge.  Last night I came home and worked on a few ideas.  I did not really like anything that I created.  So, today, when we come home from work early because of snow.  I decided to take advantage of the time and make a few cards.   This time I decided to set the mood.  I turned on the oil diffuser and used my “At Peace” oil.  I love the smell of this oil and it seems to help me relax so I can create.  And guess what???   My mojo got going with creativity!  The theme for GDP #019 is love.GDP019

I decided to go all in on Valentine’s Day with this theme.  I used red (almost), white, and hearts.  I did add a little green to mix things up a bit.   Looking around at what I had regarding love them stamps seem to be lacking.  I did find that I had the Hello Life stamp set from Stampin’ Up! Hello Life Maybe, I need to invest in more stamps that are “love” oriented. I have plenty of flowers.  But, like I said.  I really wanted to go all out Valentine’s Day for this project.  This to me meant hearts and love!!!!IMAG2725

The card is full of lovely layers.  The base layers are Whisper  White (card base), Mint Macaron, and Watermelon Wonder, and another Whisper White layer.  On the top Whisper White layer the word love is stamped in Watermelon Wonder using the stamp set Hello Life stamp set.  The top layers are Mint Macaron, and Watermelon Wonder.  The top Watermelon Wonder layer was made using watercolor paper, Watermelon Wonder ink pad, and a sponge dabber.  This added a little color variety to the background for the hearts.  The hearts were punched from the Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper.  Birthday Bouquet

Well, that’s what I did during the snow.  What did you guys do on your Friday afternoon.  And how are you planning on enjoying stamping over the weekend.  I hope everyone is safe and sound during the current cold weather and wet.  Happy Friday Night.

Here is the supply list:

Be sure to hop over to Global Design Project and check out all the wonderful projects by the design team and all those playing along.  And if you see something you like be sure to leave some blog love!

Much Love,

Jennifer
