My team and #foolproofwatercolor

Yesterday I mentioned that I had a crafty weekend with some friends. These friends are extra special because they are apart of my Stampin’ Up! team!!! I love each of these ladies for so many different reasons! One of witch is I love how each of them have there own style that is beautiful! I enjoy watching them work and make different cards. Saturday we used the Fool Proof Watercolor technique to make cards. We each brought our three favorite colors of ink and used them for this technique.  We also used the technique as a full card layer and with a stencil (postive and negative) . The stencils were created with the layering dies…We then used the Dragonfly Dreams bundle and the Butterfly Basic stamps and dies to finish off the cards.

Dragonfly Dreams Bundle

I adore this set. That being said, I have not used it a lot…shame on me!!! I really must…because, wow it is sooooo pretty!!

Butterfly Basics Dies

The details of these butterflies are just simply amazing! They work perfectly with the Butterfly Basics stamp set. This set has lots of stamps that would be perfect for tbe fool proof watercolor technique. #foolproofwatercolor

Butterfly Basics Stamp Set

The fool proof watercolor technique uses baby wipes to create a grungy background.

I love how Kelly created her dragonfly. The black really makes the blue wings pop!!! I just adore this card. It has that simple elegance!

On this card, Kelly created a really cool rose by using the same technique as the background to die cut her rose. This rose die is from the Rose Garden dies. The gray circle has a little white halo that was created by the orignal stencil…love this effect.

On this card Kelly used the same technique of backing the butterfly with black to make it stand out! She also grunged up her card layers. This looks so great with the grungy background she created with the fool proof watercolor technique. It’s such a beautiful card!

Kim’s cards have a softness to them that is beautiful! She add texture by adding dots to the oval she had masked. Putting the sentament at a angle over the Dragonfly brings the whole card together!

I love this so much! I completely love how she used the gold thread and pearls to make the body of the butterfly.  Kim had obe card layer that she was not happy with. We encuraged her to use it and this is what she designed…

This is what she came up with! It it not just lovely. The body of the card is covered with gold wink of stella. That’s what gives the green sparkly effects!!!!  Such a wonderful card…we all need the encouragement of our friends from time to time.
