New friend and Watercoloring with Birthday Bloom.
Recently I got the opportunity to stamp with a new friend. We had such fun getting to know each other. It is amazing how easy it is to talk when there are stamps, ink, and markers around. We were experimenting with one of my new art supplies, Derwent Inktense ink pencils and Stampin’ Up! Birthday Bloom Stamp Set. The flowers in this set are perfect for watercoloring. And the Inktense ink pencils make it so very easy to watercolor.
The color inspiration for this card came form Kim herself. She has such a great eye for what makes a beautiful flower. Seeing what Kim created, made me want to try and recreate her fabulous rose. Of course, I overworked my flower. So it came out quite different from Kim’s. For me the purple is such a unexpected beautiful color and really makes the rose pop!!!!
I stamped the image using Basic Gray ink on watercolor paper. Then using a aqua painter and the inktense ink pencils, watercolor the image. Using the aqua painter to pull ink off the pencil tip. The background was created by sliding the aqua painter across the tip of the ink pencil. The “With Sympathy” is stamped in Basic Gray. The watercolor panel is framed with Crushed Curry. Then using Stampin’ Dimensionals added to a Basic Gray card base.
Here is the supply list: (the “with sympathy” is from The Ton, Larget Peony 2, and you can find Inktense ink pencils from Dick Blick Art Supply)
Price: $27.00
